Nicole H. Cagle Little Wishes Fund to present check to to Good Samaritan Hospice

In July 2009 friends and family of Nicole Cagle created the Nicole H. Cagle Memorial Fund after Nicole passed away after battling breast cancer. Nicole’s supporters are using the funds raised to date to honor Nicole’s memory by helping families enjoy the little things in life. Friends and family will be presenting a check for over $13,000 to Good Samaritan Hospice on Monday, August 1st at 10:00 am at the Good Samaritan offices on Electric Road.

The money will be used to create a fund that will directly benefit patients under the care of Good Samaritan Hospice. The Nicole H. Cagle Little Wishes Fund will give hospice nurses an opportunity to request money to be used to offer little bits of joy to families under hospice care. The fund was developed because Nicole’s family knew how much it meant to Nicole to have friends who made sure she had a few extra things that made a difference to her quality of life. Marie Hodgins, Nicole’s mother, felt that the partnership with Good Samaritan Hospice was a perfect match. “Good Sam nurses provided more to Niki during her illness than just medical care, they provided the hope and laughter that we all needed to face each day.”

For more information, contact Sue Ranson at Good Samaritan Hospice. Donations may be made to the Nicole H. Cagle Little Wishes Fund, c/o Good Samaritan Hospice, 3828 Electric Road, Roanoke VA 24018.
