Another update on Kendall Bayne

From the Kendall Bayne website:

Today we visited Duke for her follow up appointments. Her CT scan did not show any new disease and she continues to improve physically from her last surgery. Although we know there is some disease in her right lung, it is asymptomatic and we are scheduled to operate and remove it January 6th. We will continue to watch for any symptoms, but this will allow her to fully heal and enjoy the holidays before returning to Duke. She plans on going to school part time to be with her friends. Thanks again for everyones [sic] support. We appreciate it greatly. The Baynes

Although the Kendall Bayne family is grateful for all the emotional and financial support you have shown, because of their modesty, it really does not address the enormous amount of funds needed to satisfy the expenses. Kendall’s illness was discovered in February. She survived an 11-hour surgery at Duke University; can you imagine that cost? Kendall and her father are going to Scottsdale, AZ on Sunday (12/11 – 12-15) to a Cancer institute to determine her treatment after the operation on the other lung at Duke on January 6th. I do not know any family who could take on these emotional and financial burdens. As a community who cares, let’s take on this task and eliminate it by donating to: Jere Bayne for the Benefit of Kendall Bayne at any Sun Trust Bank. Please send along your prayers as well. Respectfully requesting your consideration and attention to this urgent need. Al
