South Roanoke United Methodist Church presents Kevin and Bryan Matheson on Sunday afternoon, March 18, at 2 p.m.

As winners of the Ibla Grand Prize Competition in Italy, Kevin and Bryan Matheson of the Classic Strings Duo are awakening audiences to the music of the violin-viola duo. They received critical acclaim at their Carnegie Weill Recital Hall debut as part of the Ibla Foundation winners’ tour, and have been recognized for their mesmerizing and spirited performances – two perfect virtuosos, playing as one.

The duo has teamed with pianist Brenda Wittwer as the Rainier Trio.  An exciting and energetic group in its fifth season, the trio brings audiences undiscovered gems from the violin-viola-piano trio repertoire. Recently the trio released its first CD, including works by Mendelssohn, Glinka, Milhaud and Fuchs.
