Abbott’s TaeKwonDo America, located at 2907 Brambleton Ave., in Roanoke, competed in a Regional Tournament on Saturday, March 24, 2012 in Greensboro NC.
Nearly 700 competitors from across Virginia, North Carolina, Alabama and Kentucky vied in Sparring and Forms competitions. It was the largest regional tournament in TaeKwonDo America’s history and the Roanoke school was represented by 50 students, winning over 80 medals.
Abbott’s TKD School had 8 families competing, with students as young as 4 and as mature as 50+ joining in the fun. The biggest win was meeting new friends and participating in the excitement.
TaeKwonDo America (TA) was founded in Roanoke in 1991 by Robert Lacy and has grown to over 60 schools nationwide. The TA Organization focuses on providing the finest fitness training available and helping students build character to become healthier, more productive individuals.
