North Cross School students to perform in production of “The Music Man Junior” musical
The music and drama departments of North Cross School will present The Music Man Junior on April 13 and 14 at 7 p.m. in Fishburn Auditorium located on the school’s campus. This year’s musical is being sponsored by Wells Fargo Bank, NA.
The Music Man Junior is based on a story written by Meredith Willson about a traveling salesman of musical instruments and his adventures in an Iowa town. It was first performed onstage in 1950 and includes several famous and well-loved songs. The original Broadway production was produced by Kermit Bloomgarden and has won many awards
Director of Choirs for North Cross School, Andrew Miller, is directing the musical with the assistance of North Cross School English Teacher, Mike Schaefer. There are more than 50 students participating in this year’s musical. The large ensemble is composed of students from North Cross School’s lower, middle and upper schools.
The spring musical is an annual event that is an important part of the school’s fine arts program with production planning beginning every year at the start of the school year. This year’s musical includes authentic costumes and an elaborate set design that has been created by parents and students associated with the production.
The drama and musical departments of North Cross School invites the community to attend. The production is free of charge. For more information, please contact Andrew Miller at amiller@northcross.org.
