CSMS athletes receive recognition at spring sports awards program Thursday, May 10
From the Cave Spring High School website:
The following Cave Spring Middle School athletes were recognized with special awards at the spring sports awards program held on Thursday, May 10.
- For girls soccer, Jessica Lachowicz was the offensive player of the year. Lauren Hatcher shared the defensive player of the year award with McKenzie Harris. Lauren was also the co- recipient of the coach’s award with Sarah Moonen.
- In boys soccer, Andre’ Nguyen received the offensive player of the year award. Zach Shannon received the defensive player of the year award, and Thomas Consroy was the recipient of the coach’s award.
- Rachel Powell received the most improved player award in girls softball.
- In 7th and 8th grade baseball, Justin Larkin was the recipient of the most improved player. Steven Cacciatori received the coach’s award, and Nelson Stanley was the most outstanding offensive player.
- In boys and girls track, Eleah Ruffin and Alex Dehart were the award winners in the discus competition. Kyle Timmerman and Emonee Hale were recognized in the jump events. Christy Goldsmith and Colson Brandetsas were the top hurdlers. Distance runners Autumn Mehta and Eric Smith were recognized in those events and the brother and sister act of Jason and Taylor White were awarded as the track team’s top sprinters.
