Free women’s health seminar discusses menopause in a fun environment
Carilion Clinic is proud to be expanding the Red Hot Mamas program from the New River Valley to the Roanoke and Franklin County communities. Red Hot Mamas is a fun, candid and interactive presentation for women age 40 and older, to learn about their changing bodies.
Their first meeting entitled, “Pause and Effect: The Transition Into Menopause,” will take place on Tuesday, May 22 at South County Library (located at 6303 Merriman Road in Roanoke). Check-in for the program begins at 5:45 p.m. and the speaker will begin at 6 p.m.
Elizabeth McCuin, M.D., a Carilion Clinic gynecologist, will talk about biological changes taking place and their relation to health issues for women; recognizing the symptoms of menopause and managing those symptoms with lifestyle changes, hormone and complementary therapies; how to obtain more information as women approach and experience menopause.
