Reed Pendleton takes third in national free-throw shooting competition
Reed Pendleton, son of Jason and Ali Pendleton, recently finished third in a national free throw shooting contest. Reed is 9 and a third-grader at Faith Christian School.

The Elks National “Hoops Shoot” Final was held in Springfield Ma. It was the 40th year of the Hoop Shoot.
Reed won the following contests in order to qualify for the Nationals.
Local – Roanoke
District – Collinsville Va
State – Charlottesville Va
Regional – Frederick Md
He had a 1 in 40,000 chance of becoming one of the seventy-two National Finalists from over three million youngsters who participated. In his 8 – 9 year old age group over 400,000 youngsters shot.
At the National Finals, Reed finished tied for second in the nation, and lost by one in a five shot shoot off to finish third in the country.
