VDOT advises lane closure on U.S. 220 south will be extended
The Virginia Department of Transportation advises: Today’s lane closure on southbound Route 220 will extend several hours beyond 2 p.m.
This is in reference to the following release, which we posted last week but will re-post here:
Beginning Sunday, June 17, a lane closure will be in place as crews begin work to repair the southbound Route 220 bridge over Back Creek in Roanoke County. The bridge is located 4.5 miles south of Route 419 near Red Hill Baptist Church.
Southbound Route 220 will be reduced to one lane while work is underway.
A right lane closure will be in place from 8 p.m. on Sunday, June 17 until 2 p.m. on Monday, June 18.
A left lane closure will be in place from 8 p.m. on Monday, June 18 until 2 p.m. on Tuesday, June 19.
Drivers should expect possible delays and watch for signs.
These dates are tentative and could be adjusted depending on weather and work schedule.
