Cave Spring Lions Club inducts new officers

The Cave Spring Lions Club has inducted the following officers:

  • President: Jim Bailey
  • First Vice-President: Dharamdeo Sawh
  • Second Vice-President: Frances Mills
  • Secretary: Jane Nash
  • Treasurer: Jim Newman
  • Assistant Treasurer: Dewey Monger
  • Tail Twister: Doug Law
  • Lion Tamer: Larry Nash
  • Chaplain: Jane Ambrose-Cosby
  • Old Monarch: Dick Decker
  • Immediate Past-President: Jim Cosby
  • One-Year Directors: John Arbogast, Lynn Slonaker, Tom Hudson, Craig Camidge and Bob Morse
  • Two-Year Directors: Tressa Camidge, Carlton Saul, Gary Wagner and Noel Cosby
  • Membership Committee: Jim Cosby, Lynn Slonaker and Sophia Moticha

The term of office is from July 1, 2012 to July 1, 2013.  The induction was performed by Eric Mills, Chairman of Virginia District 24-E, Region II, Zone 1.

Certificates of Appreciation for their selflessly donated many hours, each volunteering week after week at the Lions Eyeglass Recycling Center were presented to: Jim Bailey, Hank Gleixner, Frank Kinder, Doug Law, Frances Mills, Bob Morse, Larry Nash, Dharamdeo Sawh, Lynn Slonaker, Gabe Voss and Al Willis.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Tressa Camidge for her chairwomanship of the LOV ticket sales.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to John Arbogast for his work in leading Club members and other volunteers in planting or protecting trees at the new South County Library and at Penn Forest Elementary School.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Craig Camidge for accepting the challenge of Program Chairman for the Club.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Jim Newman for his work as Treasurer of the Club for more than six years as well as District Treasurer.

A Certificate of Appreciation was presented to Noel Cosby for her work as Newsletter Editor for the Raleigh Court Lions Club from 2001 to 2005 and of the Cave Spring Lions Club from 2005 to the present. Also, she has served as District 24E newsletter editor and cabinet member since 2007.

An International Presidential Award was presented to Larry Nash for his leadership and support for all of the Lions Club projects. Outside of Lions he regularly volunteers at the Salem-Roanoke County Food Bank.

The prestigious Lion of the Year Award was presented to Dharamdeo Sawh for his support and volunteerism throughout the year for substantially all of the Lion’s projects including service on the membership committee, work at the eyeglass recycling center, leader of the 70th Anniversary Celebration, plus serving as the Club’s official photographer.
