Deadline Extended! Register Now for the 2012 Subway Commonwealth Games!  Please visit our website to find out more about your specific sport.  We would love for you to join us and be a part of what is to be one of our most exciting years yet!

Athlete Tailgate Party, presented by Grand Home Furnishings, at the Roanoke Civic Center Special Events Center on Friday, July 20 from 4:30 to 7 p.m.

Come join us for the 2012 Athlete Tailgate Party – bigger and better than ever before! This celebration party will include a variety of food, the Washington Redskins 80th Anniversary Thank You Tour, inflatables zone, simulators and much much more! Mark your calendars now to attend the kick off party for the 2012 Games!

Friends and family will have to have to purchase a ticket to Opening Ceremonies.

Opening Ceremonies at the Roanoke Civic Center Coliseum on Friday, July 20, 2012 at 7:30 p.m.

The 2012 Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia will be kicked off Friday, July 20th at 7:30 p.m. at the Roanoke Civic Center with the annual Opening Ceremonies! The festivities will include the parade of athletes, torch run and indoor fireworks.

Free admission to athletes and coaches with their 2012 Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia wristband.

The Opening Ceremonies will feature:

  • Olympic Gold medalist Joey Cheek, who will be speaking to the crowd and sharing his story!
  • A BMX Bike Show
  • Miss Virginia 2012 and much more!!

2012 Subway Games athletes participating in Opening Ceremonies and the Parade of Athletes will receive a free gift.

Opening Ceremonies tickets are $7 for adults, $4 for students ages 6-17 and free for children ages 5 and under. Admission is also free to athletes and coaches with their 2012 Subway Commonwealth Games of Virginia wristband.
