Jack Sale of Southwest Roanoke County was the overall winner of the Roanoke Valley Senior Golf Tour’s tournament played Tuesday, July 10 at The Westlake Golf and Country Club. Sale, playing in Division 1 (Handicaps 0-13), recorded a net score of 61. Other Division 1 winners were: 2nd – Jerry Snyder, 63; 3rd – Charles Simpson III – 65; 4th – Buddy Shull, 65; 5th – Hi Nicely, 66.

Mike Barnhill of Southwest Roanoke carded a net score of 62 to pick up first-place honors in Division 2 (Handicaps 14-19). Other winners in Division 2 were: 2nd – William Cox, 62: 3rd – Garland Dooley, 64; 4th – Dallas Helems, 65; 5th – Butch Blessard, 65.

Division 3 winners (Handicaps over 19) were led by first-place winner Pat Smith of Riner with a net score of 64. Other winners in Division 3 were: 2nd – Ralph Gravely, 65; 3rd – John Pomeroy, 65; 4th – Gary Purdy, 65; 5th – Donnie Field, 65.

The Low Gross Score Honor went to Jerry Snyder with a score of 70.

    Looks like some more publicity for the high filutin’ SW County bunch. They just can’t stand to be out of the limelight for long.
