Taylor Early is new Troop 221 Eagle Scout
Taylor Early, of Boy Scout Troop 221, was awarded the Eagle Scout rank in a Court of Honor held June 30, 2012.
Boy Scout Troop 221 is sponsored by Cave Spring United Methodist, and has a long history of producing eagle scout candidates in Southwest County.
Taylor’s eagle project benefited Angel of Assisi, a no-kill animal shelter in downtown Roanoke. The two-part project consisted of landscaping the outside grounds and constructing a nine compartment, three tier rabbit hutch. Fundraising for the project totaled $2,200, and the project took over 450 hours to complete with the assistance of numerous volunteer scouts, scout leaders, friends and other adults.
Taylor is a class of 2012 Honors graduate of Cave Spring High School and the Burton Center for Arts and Technology. This fall he will attend Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia through the School of Arts and Honors College.
Proud parents are John and Vickie Early.
