In an effort to join the battle against childhood cancer, Southwest Roanoke County resident Macy Holthouser hosted an Alex’s Lemonade Stand as part of her 4th birthday party celebration on Saturday, August 25.

For the last six months, Macy has been expressing her wish to host a lemonade stand for her 4th birthday party. After hearing the story of young Alexandra “Alex” Scott, who also hosted her first lemonade stand at the age of 4, Macy wanted to send all of her money raised at the lemonade stand to fight childhood cancer. Along with helping Alex, Macy was hosting the stand in honor of her aunt’s sister, Lori Cannon, who died of cancer at a very young age.
