Riley named principal at Hidden Valley Middle School
The Roanoke County School Board has named Michael Riley as the new principal at Hidden Valley Middle School, effective August20. Riley replaces Dr. Ken Nicely who earlier this month was named as the new Director of Secondary Instruction/Technology.
Riley, who currently serves as assistant principal at HVMS first joined Roanoke County Public Schools in 1996 as a chemistry teacher at Cave Spring High School. Riley taught at CSHS until 2006 when he was named the assistant principal at HVMS.
“Mike has shown outstanding leadership as an assistant principal at Hidden Valley Middle and I’m pleased he will continue to lead the school as principal,” said Roanoke County Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Lorraine Lange. “Under his leadership, I’m confident Hidden Valley Middle will continue to be successful,” Lange added.
