Friends of the Library hosts semi-annual fall book sale Oct. 13-18

The Friends of the Roanoke County Public Library will host their popular Fall Book Sale Saturday, October 13 through Thursday, October 18 at South County Library, 6303 Merriman Road, Roanoke. The sale will take place during the library’s regular business hours: Monday-Thursday, 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.; and Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

As in years past, thousands of gently used fiction and non-fiction books, children’s books, videos, DVDs, and audiobooks will be available at incredibly low prices. Wednesday, October 17 is Half-price Day; Box Day is Thursday, October 18. On Box Days, customers can bring a box and fill it full of books for only $3.00!

Book sale organizer Priscilla Johnson says the sale is the Library’s main fundraiser and encourages people to come early for the best selection. All proceeds benefit the Roanoke County Public Library system. For more information, call 772-7507.

The Roanoke County Public Library is the community’s primary resource for lifelong learning and the place people turn to for the discovery of ideas, the joy of reading, and the power of information. There are six libraries in Roanoke County: South County Library, Bent Mountain, Glenvar, Hollins, Mount Pleasant, and Vinton. The operation of the Roanoke County public library system is made possible in part through the support of Friends of the Library, a non-profit public charity as designated by the Internal Revenue Service. Contributions to Friends are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law and according to your personal situation. For more information, call (540) 772-7507 or visit www.yourlibrary.us.
