Tonight’s football forecast: Another warm night for football

Kevin Myatt

Weather journalist Kevin Myatt

It’s week three for high school football tonight. Hidden Valley is home against Lord Botetourt. Cave Spring travels across town to Northside.

Weather journalist Kevin Myatt offers this forecast:

Very similar to last Friday night. Afternoon highs will peak in the upper 80s to low 90s, and gradually fall through the sticky 80s through game time, possibly into the mid and upper 70s by the end of the games in the New River Valley. Showers will be very isolated, if they occur at all, and likely any that do occur will be well before game time. Most to all high school football sites will stay dry Friday, with clear to partly cloudy skies, but it will be more late summer than early fall.

We’re expecting photos from both games, so check back for those — or share your own at news@swo-co.com, or use the “share” tool to upload 10 at a time.

Last week, we had photos fromCave Spring-Martinsville from Loren Wright and photos from Hidden Valley-William Byrd from Nakia Wimberly. We also had photos of the Hidden Valley band from David Atkins.
