Photos: Penn Forest Elementary “Pumpkins on the Playground” Oct. 23, 2012

Pumpkins… they come in all sizes. Some are big, some are small and some are just right. Penn Forest Elementary students got the chance to decide how much one pumpkin, in particular, weighed this past Tuesday, October 23 at their annual Pumpkins on the Playground event. But guessing the weight of the pumpkin wasn’t the only thing to do at the event… far from it, in fact. The evening started off with a pumpkin “pick up” on the front lawn of the school and was followed by a family style dinner. Face painting, temporary tattoos and even a candy bar walk were well underway when I walked through to the gym.

Then, I went outside.

It was a warm evening and a perfect night to spend outdoors. There was everything from a tractor ride to furry animals and even inflatables and various pumpkin themed games. It was clear that the crowd was having lots of fun. Kids were laughing, parents were smiling, and the pumpkins were just right… who could ask for more than that?
