Fireman saves pet grave markers from brush fire

The recent brush fire on Bent Mountain went onto the property of Kay and Dan Moore. The family was touched to see a Roanoke County firefighter take the time to rescue some flags and pet grave markers from a family cemetery on the property. Kay shares this photo and account:

It is originally an old family graveyard (the Shillings and the Bowman families). We buried 4 of our beloved dogs up there in the past 12 years, Charlie, Molly, Snuggles, and Lucy. The flags are both American and Confederate flags, that my husband put there. (we didn’t want them destroyed by the fire!)

It was just a nice gesture for the fireman to do for us!
