Holiday lights: An 8-foot gingerbread house on Green Meadow Road
The Roanoke Times is once again inviting people with big displays of Christmas lights to enter them in an online database of the best and brightest in Western Virginia.
And this year, there’s a twist: A contest!
Enter by December 5 and become eligible. We have details here and the complete list of lit-up locations here.
Among those is one from Southwest Roanoke County — the Riley residence on Green Meadow Road.

What visitors will see: This year visitors will see my 4car train with the animated railroad crossing flanked by small candy canes.Also I have carolers,An Ice Skating Family,Deer, A 5ft lighted snowman.I also have set up a very nice nativity scene as well as 2 6ft high toy soldiers.My main attraction is my 8ft high Gingerbread House complete with the Gingerbread family.There are both small and medium size prelit trees as well as my 7ft high spruce with Hundreds of lights.This is a must see during the holidays
