Penn Forest Worship Center, 3735 Chaparral Drive, Roanoke, VA 24018, is excited to announce that Paul MacGregor has been hired on staff as their new Children’s Ministry Director. Paul began working with the children’s ministry during the summer of 2012 and on Nov. 11, the church officially hired him. Paul has several years of experience working with children, as a teacher in the Roanoke County Schools and as Assistant Cub Master with Cub Scout Pack 418. Paul will oversee a great team of people working with our children’s ministry from newborn through 5th grade.

Under his direction the church has already seen growth in their children’s ministry. During the Wednesday night midweek children’s ministry time they have nearly doubled in attendance and now have three classes for children using Group’s Faith Weaver Friends Curriculum. The Sunday morning Children’s Connect and Grow group (Sunday School) is also growing. Because of the growth and the excitement our Kidz ZONE room is being refurbished from the floor to the ceiling.

With Christmas coming, Paul has been working with the children on an exciting Christmas play, “Sock Monkey Christmas,” which is based on a children’s book. It is the story of a bunch of Christmas presents under a tree including a sock monkey. They start arguing over who is the best Christmas present. In the end they learn the true meaning of Christmas and that the best present of all was Jesus Christ. It will take place on Sunday, Dec. 9 at 11 a.m. EVERYONE is invited! There are several great children’s activities that are planned for the month of December and into the next year. You can find out more about it at www.pfwc.net/children or you may call the church at 540-772-9482.
