Photos: Star Country honors military with Troop Tree

As you’re driving on Electric Road, you may notice the Troop Tree. Loren Wright shares photos and background on this holiday campaign for members of the military:

Keeping the military top of mind this holiday season, 94.9 Star Country is inviting listeners to send messages to the United States military members to turn a 30 foot Christmas tree from green to white with messages by Christmas.

The “Troop Tree” promotion kicked off Thursday at 10:30 am with military families being the first to place their messages on the tree. Listeners can send messages by going to 949STARCOUNTRY.COM. Messages will be placed on the tree, as well as, on 949STARCOUNTRY.COM and sent to the troops before Christmas.

Military families attending Thursday’s event included:

Mendi Keattes: Oldest son, Alain Diehl, just enlisted in the Army

Candice Shifflet: Brother and uncles are all active military members

Caitlan Heffman: Brother, Cory Tolbert, is in the Army stationed in Germany

Natalie Anderson: 2 brothers currently on active duty

The Breeding Family: Son-in-Law Devon Stevence, Marine Corps, is stationed overseas and their daughter is with him.
