A difficult, chilly volcano hike while visiting relatives in Guatemala earlier this month paid off with an amazing sunrise view. The sun rose over 8 volcanoes in front of me and cast a giant volcano shadow behind me on another volcano that extended to the clouds behind it. Beside of it another volcano was erupting. It was well worth the effort. Counting the volcano I was on and the six volcanoes behind and eight in front of me, there were 15 volcanoes in one view. We left 2 days before a major earthquake occurred there killing 8 in the city below.
