American Cancer Society is in need of volunteer drivers
The American Cancer Society is looking for volunteers for its Road to Recovery program. Volunteers for this program drive cancer patients to and from treatment. Drivers are needed for patients in Roanoke city, Roanoke County and Salem. While the time commitment and distance is flexible, volunteers will be asked to drive at least twice a month. Those eligible to volunteer must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver’s license, pass a background check and attend training sessions at the Roanoke American Cancer Society office. Trainings are held monthly and must be scheduled in advance.
For more information about the program, visit cancer.org, or if you know someone who needs a ride, call 800-ACS-2345.
