Pee Wee (Grades K-5)

Chris Comer 1st Place: a veteran returner for Hidden Valley started with a cradle to pin his first opponent from Forest Wrestling Club in the 46 – 52 lb weight class. Chris would continue his winning ways with pins over Brookville and Liberty Christian Academy competitors.

Austin Dotson returned to his second season on the mat with a 1st place finish. Austin pinned the first opponent of the season and continued undefeated by outpointing Smith Mountain Lake and RAW athletes.

Ethan Leonard 2nd place in the 59-66 weight class. Ethan pinned opponents from Brookville Bees and a Hidden Valley teammate. Ethan came up short on points to a Misfit Club wrestler. Ethan took home the Silver medal.

Cole Janiga (First Year) 2nd place in the 50-54lbs weight class. Cole took the Silver when he defeated a Smith Mountain Lake wrestler in his first tournament.

Santana Bullock (First Year): Santana (younger brother to Austin Dotson) earned a Bronze medal in his first tournament. Who says at almost 5 years old you cannot compete?

Chase Miller (First Year) 2nd Place. Chase defeated Franklin County and Smith Mountain Lake opponents by pin. Chase also conquered a Warrior Wrestling Club wrestler on points 7-4. Chase came up short against another Smith Mountain Lake teammate 10-4. Chase earned a Silver medal.

Carter Beale (First Year) 2nd Place in the 57 lb weight class. Carter took home the Silver medal after pinning his opponent in the final match.

Tyler Duffy (First Year) 3rd Place in the 59-66 weight class division. Tyler earned a 17-1 win over a Brookville Bee wrestler in his first tournament to receive the Bronze medal.

Dylan Laprad 3rd place in his weight class. Dylan accumulated enough points after defeating a Roanoke Catholic opponent 4-3 to receive the Bronze medal.

Sam McCowen (First Year) had one of the most exciting matches of the day. This being his first tournament Sam was determined not to be out done. At the end of the third period the match was tied. So the athletes had to go into overtime to determine a winner. Sam rose to the occasion and won in overtime 10-7. Not bad for a 6 year old!

Gabe Wheaton (First Year) 3rd place in 71 – 75 lb weight class. In his first tournament action, Gabe had a 4-2 win against an EC Glass competitor and received the Bronze medal.

Landon Blackshear placed 4th. Landon best match of the day was a 2-0 victory over a RAW competitor.

Middle School (Grades 6-8)
