Ronald McDonald House benefits from Senior Bazaar
Residents and staff of The Park-Oak Grove Retirement Community gathered to celebrate the rousing success of their 2012 Holiday Bazaar, the single most successful fundraiser the community has ever conducted. This year’s proceeds were gifted to our local Ronald McDonald House.
In the accompanying picture, Robert Elliott, administrator of The Park-Oak Grove, presents the check for $2,200 to Laney Mofield, executive director of The Ronald McDonald House. The funds will be used to enhance services provided by the RMH as a home away from home for families of seriously ill children receiving medical treatment in the Roanoke Valley.
In keeping with a tradition established many years ago, and with the desire of residents of The Park-Oak Grove to “give back” by helping those in need, and since 2009 their efforts have raised more than $9,300 in donations to various local service organizations.
