RRHBA Members Generously Contribute to US Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” and Salvation Army’s “Angel Tree” Campaigns

During its annual “Dollar for a Dream” fundraising and toy collecting drive to support the US Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” and the Salvation Army’s “Angel Tree” campaigns, friends and members of the Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association, Inc. (RRHBA) generously donated toys and nearly $9000 which enabled RRHBA to contribute 1041 items (for area children ages toddler to 16 years of age) to the Toys for Tots program AND items for 45 Angels who live in the Roanoke Region.

2012 RRHBA President Brad Graham recognized the generosity and countless hours of volunteer effort demonstrated by RRHBA members year after year. In honor of these contributions, annually an award is given for the most toys collected by a single RRHBA member firm. For 2012, the Santa Award was presented to MKB, REALTORS (SW Roanoke County) for the donation of 225 items. The “Dollar for Dream” concept is for each employee of each RRHBA member firm to donate $1. Several member firms took the extra step of making large contributions, including Southern State Electric & Plumbing (Moneta) which donated $1,000.

The Roanoke Regional Home Builders Association (RRHBA; Salem) is a non-profit, professional trade organization with over 320 member firms dedicated to being the respected voice of the residential and commercial building industry. Since 1955, the RRHBA has proudly served the counties of Botetourt, Craig, Floyd, Franklin, Roanoke; and the cities of Roanoke & Salem. RRHBA is affiliated with the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and the National Association of Home Builders (NAHB).
