Canada elected Roanoke County School Board Chairman
ROANOKE – Members of the Roanoke County School Board have elected Hollins district representative Jerry Canada as the 2013 chairman of the board. Canada previously has served as school board chairman four times (1995/6, 2000, 2004, 2008). He was first appointed to the Roanoke County School Board in 1992 and was re-elected in 1997, 2001, 2005 and 2009.
School board members also elected Windsor Hills District representative Drew Barrineau as vice-chairman. Barrineau has previously served twice as school board chairman (2005, 2009) and school board vice-chairman (2004, 2008). He was first elected to the school board in 2001 and was re-elected in 2005 and 2009.
