Fire damages garage on Longview Road

Roanoke County Fire & Rescue units responded to the 1200 block of Longview Road about 7:30 last night for a reported structure fire.
When the first crews arrived they found a detached garage with a truck parked next to it and heavy fire coming from both. There was also a house within about 100 feet of the flames. Volunteer and career firefighters from Cave Spring and Back Creek stations had the flames knocked down in about 20 minutes and contained damage to the truck and garage.
The specific cause of the fire is undetermined, but investigators know the flames originated in the engine compartment of a Ford F350 truck, parked outside of the garage. The fire then spread to the detached garage causing an estimated 60,000 to 80,000 dollars in damage.
No injuries were reported.
