Hidden Valley youth wrestlers participate in Christmas Clash
Hidden Valley Youth wrestlers attended the 2012 Franklin County Christmas Clash held on December 22, 2012 at Franklin County High School. Wrestler from as far away and West Virginia, North Carolina and other states competed for their pre- Christmas rewards.
Chris Comer: 1st Place in the Bantam Division won by decision over Roanoke Catholic (3-2), Virginia Elite (15-0) and Botetourt wrestling club (5-3).Chris also had a pin against another Botetourt wrestling Club opponent.
Kiel Cook 1st place Cadet Division, Kiel had a pin over an Alleghany opponent and decisions over Wilson Middle School (8-0) and Trinity Wrestling Club (7-6).
Landon Blackshear: 2nd place in the 55 lb Midget Division was defeated by Port City 8-4, but came back to pin the remaining competitors from RAW, Forza, and Roanoke Catholic wrestling Clubs to earn the Silver metal.
Dylan Laprad 2nd place Midget Division. Dylan’s best match was a pin over a Nighthawk opponent thus leading to a Silver medal finish.
Cole Janiga 3rd place Midget Division scored a (3-2) decision against a RAW opponent. Cole earned enough points to capture the Bronze medal.
Tyler Booth 3rd place Bantam Division was victorious by pin over a Nighthawk Wrestling Club opponent to real in a Bronze medal.
Sam McCowen 3rd place Bantam Division had a (21-4) technical fall and a pin over two Franklin County opponents as well as a (12-9) decision over a Nighthawk Wrestling Club rival. Sam earned a Bronze medal.
Levi Ricky 3rd place in the Tot Division.
Gabe Wheaton, Andrew Oertie and Ethan Leonard were competitive but finished outside the medals on the day.
