Middle School Division

Jordan Duncan 1st place: Jordan defeated opponents from Pit Bull (11-8) and Linkhorne Middle School 10-3 by decision. Jordan kept getting strong as the tournament went on by winning by pin over Brookville Bee and Roanoke Catholic opponents.

Kiel Cook 2nd place: Kiel defeated opponents from Jefferson Forest and Smith Mountain Lake by pin. Kiel also defeated a Dinwiddie wrestler (5-2). In probably the best match of the day Kiel squared off for the Gold medal against an Amherst wrestler. At the end of 3 periods of strategic maneuvering by both opponents the score was tied 5-5. In the deciding who would take home the gold the two wrestlers went into overtime. The Amherst opponent got a takedown and won the match (&-5). Kiel was awarded the Silver medal. The crowd definitely appreciated the efforts of both wrestlers.
