David Henderson joined Roanoke County as the County Engineer in early January. He has over 30-years of consulting experience serving government entities and authorities in the development of public infrastructure facilities and programs. Even though he is a new County employee, he is not new to the area. He was born and raised in the Roanoke Valley, and has lived in Roanoke County since 1986. David and his wife Carol have been married for 32 years and have 3 children. The oldest, Matthew, is a math teacher in Charlottesville, VA; Rebecca is a kindergarten teacher in Augusta County; and the youngest, Joshua, attends Vanderbilt University. David is excited by the opportunity to serve his long-time neighbors and positively impact the community.
