Cafe Asia in Bonsack has been a very successful business venture for owner Feng Chen. Now, he can add another restaurant to his growing list of successful eateries: Cafe Asia 2 has now opened for business in the West Village shopping center. On Thursday, September 12, owner Feng Chen, Roanoke County Existing Business Program Manager Melinda Cox, Acting Director Jill Loope, and several other Roanoke County representatives were present at the ribbon cutting along with Feng’s family and staff.
When asked how he felt about opening another restaurant, Feng said, “it’s like having another child. I am happy, tired, and excited all at the same time. I was thinking that Bonsack would be it, but we have so many great customers from this area [Southwest County], that I wanted to offer a restaurant closer to them as well.” For Feng, opening another business meant spending less time with his family, but “as a business person I want to open as many restuarants as I can. My family is important too, so I asked their permission.” The restaurant is certainly a family affair and Feng has many family members helping him in the business. “A lot of my family helps me and works here too,” he said.
The restaurant is not large, but it is a great example of a very successful remodel. The design is certainly modern with a very cozy and welcoming feel to it as well. “We have a small private room that we can close off for parties,” said Feng. The owner also mentioned that there is a large variety of wine and other alcoholic beverages available as well.
With the success of Cafe Asia in Bonsack, and the look and delicious taste of the dishes offered at the ribbon cutting, Cafe Asia 2 is sure to be a success. You can read more about Cafe Asia on their website.
