Randy — Some schools send out dean’s lists, some don’t. Radford, fortunately, is one that does, so it should automatically be coming to us. But for the benefit of others, if your school is one that doesn’t, or you don’t want to wait for the college to put out the list, you can share at news@theburgs.com. And congrats!

How do I go about getting my daughter’s name published for making the Dean’s List at Radford University?

My daughter has made the Dean’s List again at college. Is there an email address or fax number where I can submit the announcement? I have mailed at least two in the past but they have never been published.

i agree thoroughly with Chris Wilson’s statement. the Burgs or whatever has become a useless and annoying waste of wood pulp and trees! i merely throw it in the trash every friday! i could care less about ‘squeaky-clean’prom kids…they might be a little more interesting in a few years if they make it into college and start kegging and ‘messin’ around’…

I’m working with a friend on a commentary submission for The Burgs. I know there’s a word limit of 200 for letters to the editor. Is there a word limit for commentaries.

I hate the new format since it changed from The Current to the Burgs. I’d hoped it would get better, but it hasn’t. The Burgs section is now only filled with high school sports photos and the like. Where is the subsistence? How is the New River Valley suppose to attract young outsiders if all we seem to care about is HS sports? The vast majority of the NRV has no affiliation with the schools. If we wanted to hear about High School events, we’d pick up a high school paper.
