ENCORE! Fashion & Art Show is June 2 at Y Center
Forget Fifth Avenue. For your next great outfit or work of art, look no further than Encore!
At this YMCA at Virginia Tech special event, we give new life (an encore, if you will) to used items … showcasing one-of-a-kind fashions and artistic wonders created out of chic Y Thrift Shop finds.
Admission ($20 advance, $25 at door) includes dinner; a glass of Firefly Hill Vineyards wine (Virginia’s newest winery located in Montgomery County); raffle tickets; entry to the fashion & art show.
In keeping with the Y’s recycling mission, Kent Jewelers of Blacksburg will host an “Old Gold for New Diamond” special promotion. Donate your old gold to the Y. Win a diamond from Kent Jewelers if you donate the gold with the most value.
Other amenities include:
- Auction and raffle of fabulous art donated by local artists including Larry Mitchell, Darcy Meeker, Charlotte Hoge, Martha Olson and Anne Reardon.
- Sale of fashions & art featured in show.
- Free Raffle of cool thrift shop finds, Y products and services (Open U class, gift certificate to Thrift Shop, etc).
Catherine Sutton, executive director of the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce, will serve as emcee for the event, which will be held at Y Center at 1000 North Main Street.
