Montgomery County summer school to run on schedule Monday
Updated at 9:11 p.m. on July 1
Power has been restored to Price’s Fork Elementary School and Blacksburg High School. Currently, Shawsville Elementary School and Shawsville Middle School remain without power.
Summer School in Montgomery County will run as scheduled on Monday, July 2. Christiansburg Middle School, the location for summer school, was not affected by the power outage. Some transportation delays are anticipated in areas where debris is still blocking the road, but buses will make every effort to pick up students on time for school.
Twelve month employees will report as scheduled tomorrow. Anyone who anticipates trouble travelling to work should contact their supervisor and/or school principal.
Currently four schools are without power – Blacksburg High School, Shawsville Elementary School, Shawsville Middle School and Price’s Fork Elementary School. Custodial staff members at these locations should report to the facilities department. Twelve month staff members should contact their principal to arrange for an alternative work setting. The division’s School Board Office, located at 200 Junkin Street in Christiansburg, will be available as an alternate work site.
