The Garden Clubs of Virginia and clubs belonging to the Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs held their 79th Annual Convention June 19-21 in Collinsville. This year’s show was titled “Behold the Beauty in God’s Blue Ridge Mountains.” Members of the Friendship Garden Club of Montgomery County traveled to and entered flowers for this standard show of horticulture and floral arrangements.
Club members winning blue ribbons were Virginia Carr, Eulalia Mills, Shirley Akers, Georgia Thomas, and Rebecca Ford; Georgia Thomas won a red ribbon; and Mary Mills received honorable mention.
