Shelton Insurance & Financial Inc. food drive continues through Aug. 31
Shelton Insurance & Financial Inc. is proud to partner with other local Nationwide Insurance agencies in New River Valley for a food drive to benefit the 1 million people in the mid-Atlantic region who are food insecure.
The food drive began Aug. 1 and will continue through Aug. 31. The drive will benefit food banks in Maryland, Delaware, District of Columbia and Virginia.
Food donations can be brought to the Shelton Insurance’s office at 223 Central Ave. Christiansburg, VA 24073 (next to McDonalds on Route 460) during normal office hours between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“Through Nationwide’s Food Drive, you can give back and make a direct impact on the lives of people living in our community,” said Kelly Shelton. “It’s easy to get involved and make a difference.”
The Nationwide Insurance Foundation recently made a $1.25 million grant to Feeding America, the nation’s largest hunger-relief charity. Nearly 14 million children are estimated to be served by Feeding America, of which 3 million are ages 5 and younger.
