Christiansburg police remind drivers about back-to-school traffic safety
With a new school year upon us, the Christiansburg Police Department is urging drivers to take extra care in following traffic safety laws.
Here are a few traffic safety reminders:
- Drive safely and follow the speed limit.
- Be extra cautious around school buses and be prepared to stop so passengers can load and unload safely. Passing a school bus when its lights are flashing is a reckless driving offense.
- Be mindful of children waiting for school buses.
- Pay attention to school zones and follow all traffic signs.
- Be aware that extra officers are out monitoring traffic
Together, we can make this another safe and happy school year for our community.
