Free Clinic of NRV announces new board members and officers

Patricia Hyer has been elected chairman of the Free Clinic of the New River Valley's board of directors.
The Free Clinic is pleased to announce newly elected board members and officers. Patricia Hyer, associate provost emerita at Virginia Tech, has been active with the clinic since 2009 and assumes the role of board chairman. She takes over for the past-Chairman Cathy Callahan of VCOM.
Other executive officers include Chairman-elect Amy Westmoreland, pharmacy manager at Carilion Giles Community Hospital, and secretary Michael Herndon, director of university summer sessions at Virginia Tech.
Additionally, new board members include: James Bohland, professor emeritus of public and international affairs at Virginia Tech; Tracy Cohn, assistant professor of psychology at Radford University; Kristi Eaton, accounting supervisor at Celco Credit Union; and Keith Finch of The Creekmore Law Firm.
These individuals join existing members: Joan Hirt, professor at Virginia Tech; Cathy McDowell, director of orthopedics at HCA; Molly Prater, branch manager at Freedom First Credit Union; Anthony Ramsey, assistant professor at the Radford University School of Nursing; Charlotte Ramsey, chief nursing officer at Carilion New River Valley Medical Center; Karen Eley Sanders, associate vice president for academic support services at Virginia Tech; Margot Thompson of Thompson Tire; and ex-officio Daniel Kelly, physician at Carilion Family Practice in Radford.
The Free Clinic of the New River Valley serves adults at clinic locations in Christiansburg, Pearisburg and Radford and provides primary medical and specialty health care, dental care, mental health care and pharmacy services to people in the New River Valley who are low-income, uninsured and who otherwise cannot afford access to healthcare.
