Nancy Kent of Radford shares these photos and writes:

A Southern Sunday Welcome was held for incoming and returning RU students at the Radford Farmer’s Market square. This roving photographer was among the city residents who attended. Food from local merchants and Market vendors, music provided by Ball & Chain, games, and information tents provided a good way for RU students to be welcomed to Radford. Ellen Taylor, event organizer, listens with Mark Shanley, RU Vice President for Student Affairs as Penelope Kyle makes opening remarks to those attending. Penelope Kyle greets Bruce Brown, Mayor of Radford. Students and residents listen as opening remarks continue. A good time was had by all!

An intense game of Jenga was played by two RU students who carefully, with calculating eyes, removed blocks one at a time and added them to the top of the tower. Finally the last block was pulled, and the tower crashed to the table.

A few students brought along their pups to enjoy the food, music, games, and info. The dogs were eager to cool down with water and ice. Hot dog! Cool dog!

Music for a Sunday Southern Welcome in Radford was provided by Ball and Chain.
