Long & Foster in Blacksburg volunteers at Sparky’s Run for Community Service Day
In June, many of Long & Foster’s sales offices throughout the mid-Atlantic region and the headquarters staff in Chantilly, Va., participated in the company’s annual Community Service Day.
About 20 real estate agents and staff from the Blacksburg Long & Foster REALTORS office volunteered to help prepare the new dog park, Sparky’s Run, on Pulaski Avenue in Radford for its grand opening and dedication, which was held Wednesday, Aug. 22.
On June 13, the volunteers helped assemble and paint picnic tables, painted the park’s storage building and decorative fire hydrants, pulled weeds, built temporary fencing around newly planted trees for protection, and more.
“This annual event, now in its 15th year, is a vitally important part of Long & Foster’s culture,” said P. Wesley Foster Jr., chairman and CEO of The Long & Foster Companies. “Our sales associates and employees gain a tremendous sense of personal satisfaction by contributing their time and effort in the community. Many charities and local organizations are struggling as a result of the continued pressure on the economy, and we are honored to have the opportunity to assist them with this targeted effort.”
