It couldn’t have been any more fun for Jason and Jessica Hiner! Getting married again, within three months from when they first said, “I do,” but this time, amidst the hustle and bustle of the first airshow held in a long time at the NRV Airport in Dublin, this past Sunday, Sept. 9.
As Reverend Kanta Bosniak said during the wedding ceremony, one of the values the Hiners treasure is playfulness and agreeing to say their wedding vows again at the airshow attests to this.
This promotional wedding showcase was the brainchild of Marivic Gallimore, president and founder of NRV Bridals and Events and Debbie Craig Seagle, airshow director and overall coordinator of the NRV SkyFest AirShow.
The air show was launched to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the NRV Airport while raising awareness and creating a lasting appreciation for aviation and the presence of this small regional airport in our area. Their aim was three-fold: to provide a safe and memorable family event that would showcase the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwest Virginia, honor the NRV Airport’s history of aviation and contribute to the community through active participation of local businesses.
The three days of the airshow Sept 7-9, certainly did that and more.
The organizers could not have asked for a better day for an outdoor wedding ceremony and an airshow full of thrilling aerobatic stunts. Surrounded by a small group of family and friends and watched by curious and fascinated onlookers from the airshow crowd, Jason and Jessica declared their love for each other once more.
Members of NRV Bridals and Events Inc., a nonprofit organization for wedding and events professionals in the New River Valley, donated their products and services to this wedding showcase, including ministerial service by Bosniak, photography by Always and Forever Photo and Maya McMahon Photography, videography by Pixel Score, wedding dress and jewelry by SoCrystal, food and beverages by NRV Bridals, music and DJ services by DJ John Fox of Tunes You Remember, and planning and coordination by Elegance by Marivic and Always Eventful. Media materials and publicity were provided by Darlington Graphics and Luis Garcia, media consultant.
This very creative and out-of-the box event and many others like this are designed to highlight the services available from the group of wedding professionals of NRV Bridals and Events Inc. for a one-stop shop experience in planning a wedding or any special occasion.
NRV Bridals and Events will host their 3rd Annual Fall Bridal Expo at the Inn at Virginia Tech, Latham Ballroom on Sunday, Sept. 16. The organizers have planned a day full of very informative activities including a bridal fashion show by Chantilly Lace and a Q&A session where brides can ask the most pressing questions they have to selected wedding professionals in the room. Fabulous door prizes await the guests, such as a 14K gold cultured pearl necklace valued at $400 from Kent Jewelers, a free bridal session or mess the dress session valued at $250 from 590 Candid/CLB Photography, and one night in the Whirlpool Suite at the Hampton Inn Christiansburg valued at $169, to name a few.
To pre-register at www.newrivervalleybridalexpo.com for a $5 admission; registration at the door costs $10. This admission fee entitles one to bring two additional guests; all admission proceeds go towards NRV Bridals’ adopted charity – the Women’s Resource Center of the NRV.
