LewisGale hospital’s CEO Scott Hill accepts new position in Georgia

After more than six years of serving as the chief executive officer for LewisGale Hospital Montgomery, Scott Hill is leaving the area to pursue a new career opportunity. He has accepted the position of chief operating officer for Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Georgia.
“Scott has always put our patients first, and his focus on high-quality, compassionate care has been instrumental in our growth as an integrated healthcare system that consistently ranks among the top in the nation for patient care,” said Victor Giovanetti, president of LewisGale Regional Health System. “Under Scott’s leadership, we’ve been able to expand services and develop strategic partnerships in the New River Valley.”
Hill has experienced many significant patient achievements during his tenure, but he has also faced many challenges, including the Virginia Tech shootings.
“We’ve faced challenges that many organizations would never imagine going through, including two shootings and a major regional disaster response,” he said. “I am proud of how our hospital and community responded to the tragedies. We could have let those events tear us down, but it made us stronger. It’s something I will carry with me for the rest of my life.”
While Hill is excited about his new career opportunity, he is sad to say goodbye to a community he has grown to love and a hospital staff that’s become like family.
“Some of the finest people I’ve been around in my life are from this community,” he said.
LewisGale Regional Health System has started the search for a new CEO.
“We wish Scott well in his new venture,” said Giovanetti. “He has set the bar high for our next CEO.”
