ATK New River Energetics employees recently took some time out of their busy weekends to help out in their community.
Employees volunteered for a cleanup day at the Christiansburg Head Start, part of New River Community Action Inc. They weeded and mulched the school’s garden, did general yard work, painted the facility’s bathrooms, and repaired some damaged walls inside a classroom. ATK purchased all materials and provided additional funding to cover installation of gutter guards by a local contractor.
Leah Hill, Montgomery site administrator, said, “The work that was completed makes our center look so much more appealing and presentable. With the purchase of a guard on our guttering, our classrooms will no longer flood when it rains, which is a miracle. We have been so blessed by your generosity. Now we can provide an even better program to our children because of your contribution.”
