Downtown Blacksburg Inc. and Harding Avenue Elementary partner for cash mob Oct. 18
On Thursday, Oct. 18, at 5:32 p.m., Downtown Blacksburg, Inc. will partner with Harding Avenue Elementary School’s PTA for a Cash Mob. The group will meet in front of the murals in Market Square Park, Roanoke Street, Downtown Blacksburg. All are welcome.
In addition to visiting two locally owned downtown businesses — one for shopping and one for the “aftermob” celebration, the Cash Mob will show support for the downtown elementary school.
“Harding Avenue Elementary is very excited to partner with Downtown Blacksburg Inc.! We are looking forward to a great time and to support our local businesses,” said Carolyn Ansley, PTA president at the school.
Downtown Blacksburg Inc. has been holding monthly Cash Mobs since March 2012. Cash Mobs are the international phenomena encouraging people to support their local small businesses. In addition to supporting our small businesses downtown, it is also a chance for people to connect. The rules for participants are spend up to $20, meet three people you didn’t know before and have fun.
