Claytor Lake Triathlon, in its second year, doubles donation to FOCL
On Monday, Oct. 15, a $1,000 check was donated to Friends of Claytor Lake from the proceeds of the Claytor Lake Triathlon held Sept. 22.
The triathlon, in its second year, more than doubled its donation from about $460 last year.
Last year’s event included 52 registered participants. This year, with the addition of TriAdventure taking the lead role in implementing the race, more than 200 participants registered.
Pictured are two of the four organizers Johnny Garrett of Bike Barn and Mike McMillion of Pulaski Bikes. Not pictured are Matthew Wright, Claytor Lake State Park chief ranger, and Anne Thompson of TriAdventure.
