What forms of identification do you need to bring to the polls? In 2012, changes were made to Virginia’s voter identification laws. Virginia voters are reminded that state law requires all voters to provide an acceptable form of identification at the polls. Voters arriving to the polls without ID will be required to vote a provisional ballot and will have until noon on the Friday after the election to deliver a copy of identification to their locality’s electoral board in order for their provisional ballot to be counted.  Here is a list of acceptable forms of identification, frequently asked questions and special instructions for certain first-time voters: www.sbe.virginia.gov/VotinginPerson.html

The Blacksburg Transit has set up a special Election Day shuttle service for the following voting locations: Blacksburg Middle School, VA Tech/Montgomery Executive Airport, Margaret Beeks, Blacksburg Community Center, Blacksburg Library, Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and Gilbert Linkous Elementary. For questions, please call the Blacksburg Transit at 961-1185. View the schedule: www.montgomerycountyva.gov/filestorage/1146/98/185/732/2012_shuttle_service.pdf
