Christiansburg police join agencies for Click It or Ticket Mini-Mobilization
The Click It or Ticket Mini-Mobilization kicks off November 11 – 18, 2012. The Christiansburg Police Department joins agencies across the state to target occupant safety.
Officers will be out in force issuing tickets for drivers who do not wear their seatbelts and those who fail to ensure underage passengers are buckled up.
“Our goal is to save lives and reduce injuries related to motor vehicle crashes,” says Major Dalton Reid, “There are no warnings, if you are in violation of the Commonwealth’s seatbelt laws, we will issue you a ticket.”
The mini-mobilization stresses the importance of seatbelt use and reminds motorists that seatbelt safety and occupant protection should be practiced year round.
The agency also participates in the annual mobilization, which occurs in May. In addition, the Christiansburg Police Department addresses occupant protection through traffic safety programs like “Take the Christiansburg Seatbelt Challenge.”
The Christiansburg Police Department partners with the Safe and Sober Organization, The Virginia Division of Motor Vehicles, Drive Smart Virginia, The Virginia State Police and numerous other law enforcement agencies across the state.
