NRV Mall to open midnight on Black Friday, Nov. 23
Pennsylvania Real Estate Investment Trust is opening the doors to nearly all of its malls at midnight on Black Friday, Nov. 23, including New River Valley Mall. The extra-early opening allows local shoppers access to the added-value sales many retailers are offering exclusively during the overnight hours.
“The midnight opening and exclusive discounts create an enjoyable, convenient experience for the official kick-off of the holiday shopping season,” said Mike Poldiak, mall general manager.
Individual store opening times and notable Black Friday offers will be posted on New River Valley Mall’s website leading up to Thanksgiving and on Black Friday. A listing of special offers will also be available on the PREIT Malls app, available for free via iTunes or Google Play.
Starting on Nov. 23 and throughout the holiday season, shoppers will be able to create and share personalized holiday e-cards and enter the mall’s $2,000 Shopping Spree Sweepstakes. Also, New River Valley Mall is offering a variety of promotions to enhance the shopping experience that include: extended holiday shopping hours; Santa photos, including special sessions with pets; a gift-wrapping service by the Christiansburg Ministerial Association benefiting the Montgomery County Emergency Assistance Program; a giving tree for Good Samaritan Hospice; festive entertainment; and American Express Mall Gift Cards for personal and business gift giving.
Additionally, New River Valley Mall is supporting Montgomery County through the International Council of Shopping Center’s Shop Local campaign, which encourages consumers to shop in the community to help strengthen its economic base. Select mall retailers will also be partaking in Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, a day dedicated to supporting small businesses nationwide.
